Dr. Raut received a Bachelor in Electronics Engineering degree from Tribhuvan
University, a Master in Information Science and Technology degree from the
University of Tokyo, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. He is
currently working as a scientist in the speech and language processing
department at Raytheon BBN Technologies (Massachusetts, USA). In the
past (2001-2002), he also served as a lecturer cum head of department at the
department of computer engineering at Advanced College of Engineering
and Management, Lalitpur, Nepal.
He is a recipient of Young Engineer Award, Mahendra Vidya Bhooshan,
Kulratna Gold Medal and Prof. F. N. Trofimenkoff Academic Achievement
Award among others.
