My name is Gabriel Brostow, and I
am a postdoc in the Vision and Robotics
Group here at Cambridge University. I work with Roberto Cipolla,
his students, and other researchers here. We are part of the
Engineering Department's Machine
Intelligence Lab, and I am also a visiting fellow of St. John's College, one of the
main colleges that make up this university. I came here as a Marshall
Sherfield Fellow after completing my Ph.D. in
the College of Computing at
the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Our group there, the Computational
Perception Lab, was founded by my advisor, Irfan Essa, as
the
vision & animation arm of the interdisciplinary GVU Center. My research and
teaching are on the computational perception of
motion; analyzing it in video, modeling it, and synthesizing
animations. This
work is exciting because it can potentially impact diverse areas
like A.I., biomechanics, games, special effects, and zoology. Below
you'll find
links to some of my published research.
