Licensing details

Use of this software indicates acceptance of the following: you shall not modify, adapt, reverse engineer, translate or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of this file, or permit any of these things to happen. The un-licensed software is purely for academic or personal use and any commercial usage is strictly prohibited. For commercial licenses please contact software@enterprise.cam.ac.uk.

All of the features and the majority of the functions in Stradview have been designed and written in-house rather than making use of third-party libraries, which is what makes much of Stradview unique. However, the following list details where third-party code has been used, and what it was used for. The authors are grateful for the free availability of these packages.

wxWidgets

This is a cross-platform GUI which allows compilation on Windows and also Linux. The wxWidgets (wxWindows) Library Licence is essentially the L-GPL (Library General Public Licence), with an exception stating that derived works in binary form (as with Stradview) may be distributed on the user's own terms.

RPly

This library is used to load and save surface meshes in the PLY format. Available under the MIT license for added freedom - see notice below.

OpenJPEG

This is used to allow the loading of a particularly rare sub-type of the DICOM storage format, where the data is compressed in a lossless variant of JPEG. The OpenJPEG code is released under the 2-clauses BSD license, so anyone can use or modify the code, even for commercial applications. The only restriction is to retain the copyright in the sources or in the binaries documentation - see notice below.

Eigen

This supplies a very small bit of underlying maths - specifically matrix decompositions used for interpolating sub-structure within a fitted shape model. Eigen is Free Software, licensed under the MPL2, which is a simple weak copyleft license. For binary distribution (as with Stradview) this just requires that the location of the Eigen source code is made available - see:

CUDA Cubic B-Spline Interpolation

This supplies GLSL code, used in volume rendering, for efficient cubic interpolation of a 3D texture using underlying linear interpolation of the texture - see notice below.
