Gerhard Reitmayr
I am a research associate in Cambridge University Engineering Department where I am working in the MIL Group in the Information Engineering Division with Dr. Tom Drummond.
Before that, I was research assistent at Vienna University of Technology where I did a PhD on mobile augmented reality. My thesis focuses on software design issues for such systems, while a set of demonstrators showed collaboration between mobile users in indoor and outoor environments. There is still some information left there on past projects.
Research
My interests are the development of augmented reality user interfaces, wearable computing, ubiquitous computing environments and the integration of these. Research directions include computer vision techniques for localisation and tracking, interaction methods and software architectures for intelligent room environments. Current developments include a table top environment for interaction with augmented maps and a hybrid model-based tracking system for augmented reality applications in outdoor environments.
For more details on current and past projects visit my projects page.
Other information includes a list of publications and talks and my curriculum vitae.
