Winter Augmented Reality Meeting 2005

Call for Participation

The fields of Computer Graphics, Augmented Reality, Computer Vision and Ubiquitous Computing have the potential to be synergistic. However, the overlap and mutual contributions of each area has yet to be expressed and understood. The specialist, immersed in his or her own discipline, struggles to see the "big picture". The core of the workshop is to be Augmented Reality and we are soliciting presentations from members of each community that illuminate the interplay between the different disciplines and AR.

We welcome presentations on all topics related to AR including but not limited to:

We plan to have 15-20 min presentation slots and at least 10 min of discussion time for each presentation. To participate, please submit a title and a short abstract for your presentation to warm05@icg.tu-graz.ac.at by 21st November.

There will be opportunities to ski both before and after the workshop. Cheap flights are available from London Stansted to Graz or Linz, whence travel can be arranged to Planneralm.

Location

We intend to reserve places at the university sport institute's hut at the Planneralm (some information in english here). This is the highest ski village in Styria, and has a record of entirely natural snow from the beginning of December. More information on the hut is available at the USI Graz web page.

Cost

Full board cost is 32 EUR/day for students under 27 years old, and 41 EUR/day otherwise. For the cost of ski passes see the Planneralm website. Discounts on renting ski equipment are available for those at the hut.

Duration

The workshop itself will last a single day (Monday 19th December), but there will opportunities to stay both before and after this date in order to ski, snowboard or enjoy the apres ski. Accomodation is possible from Saturday, 17th December until Thursday, 22th December.
