I was a Research Associate in speech recognition. I worked at the Cambridge University Engineering Department on these projects:
I have since left to join the Siri speech group at Apple.
Cross-entropy for model compensation: analyse methods for model compensation in Python.
Flipsta library, GitHub: manipulate finite-state automata in C++ and Python.
In 2005 I graduated with an MSc in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology and an MA in English Literature and Linguistics from Leiden University. Subsequently I was a lecturer in artificial intelligence at Delft University for a year. From 2006 to 2007 I did an MPhil in Computer Speech, Text and Internet Technology at Cambridge University. Over the summer of 2007 I was a Research Assistant on the AGILE project at the same university. From October 2007 until January 2011 I was a PhD student in Cambridge on noise-robust speech recognition supervised by Prof. Mark Gales. From February 2011 I was a Research Associate at the Cambridge University Engineering Department on the Generative Kernels and Score-Spaces for Classification of Speech project; since November 2013 on the Automatic Oral Communication Skill Evaluation project; and since June 2014 on the Segmental Neural Features for Speech Recognition project. In November 2015, I left the University to join the Siri speech group at Apple.
