Research Assistant in Speech Recognition and Assessment
Applications are invited for one research assistant position in automatic speech recognition and assessment. This position will be associated with a project which is set up to develop methods to automatically evaluate English-speaking skills of non-native speakers in oral communication tests. The specific task is to investigate non-native speech recognition and associated scoring approaches.
HTK platform will be used as the speech recognition platform. The successful candidate will be familiar with HMM based speech recognition and machine learning techniques. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in language assessment related research and familiarity with the HTK platform. Candidates who have or will shortly have a Ph.D. are preferred although candidates with comparable research experience are also encouraged to apply.
